1. Review of the requirements in our Bylaws for candidates for vestry service:
a. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
b. Must be confirmed, and a Member of St. Patrick’s not less than 1 year
c. An active pledge commitment to SPAC
d. Commitment to spiritual disciplines such as daily Bible reading and prayer
e. Commitment to attendance and participation in worship and church events, as well as vestry meetings and the vestry retreat
f. Familiarity with the Constitutions and Canons of the Diocese
g. Agreement with the Oath for Vestry Members, which all vestry members are required to sign at their first meeting: “I do believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the Word of God and to contain all things necessary for salvation and I do yield my hearty consent to the doctrines, discipline and worship of Christ as the Anglican Church in North America has received them. I promise that I will faithfully execute the office of Vestry member of this church to the best of my ability.”
2. Conflicts of Interest:
a. Husbands and Wives shall not serve simultaneously on the vestry
b. Parents/Children/Siblings/In-Laws shall not serve simultaneously on the vestry
c. No spouse of a current staff member may serve on the vestry.
