2026 Vestry Nominations

Every year at St. Patrick’s Annual Meeting (held the 2nd Sunday of Advent) we elect three new vestry members to serve a three-year term (Occasionally, like this year, we have one, one-year term to fill by a vestry member who moved away).  The vestry serves as the lay “board” of the parish. Selecting spiritually mature, active members to fill these roles is a weighty task. The vestry works with the Rector to ensure the the church operates faithfully in its spiritual, financial, and operational tasks.  The Rector and Vestry have worked to refine this process and increase clarity and transparency. Nominations for vestry are now open. We will accept nominations from now through November 1st, All Saints Day.
The nominations and selection of candidates will follow this process:

  • Please read and pray over the Biblical passages that address faithful leadership in the Body of Christ (Matthew 20:25-28, John 13:12-16, Romans 12:9-13, Acts 20:28, Ephesians 4:11-16) 
  • Review the qualifications individuals must meet to be nominated.
  • Inform the person you wish to nominate and seek their consent to be nominated and serve if elected.
  • Be able to articulate why you think your nominee would make a good vestry member.
  • Pray for your nominee and the Nominations Committee —that the Lord will raise up the right leaders for this moment in our parish’s life.

Nominees will be vetted and interviewed by the Nominations Committee. After prayerful consideration, the Nominating Committee will recommend the slate of candidates (not all who are nominated will necessarily appear on the ballot). Not later than November 19, the final slate will be announced to the parish, along with their photos and information about the candidates. This will enable you to speak with them or ask any pertinent questions prior to the election at the Annual Meeting (Dec 6).

We are hoping to present six candidates for election to fill the following 4 seats: One, One-year term (vacated by Bill Ford due to his family’s move) and three, three-year terms of those who have completed their terms.
